He shrugged.
The Scourge: Different time, different man. I indulged myself once... and it cost me everything. It changed... everything. It would take something singular to change things back.
His voice had gone quite dark and had a tone of danger. Some wounds do not heal.

She nods back, choosing not to continue down that road.
Syren: So what, you just came back for the money? Or is it your love of ripping guys apart?
She says with a bit of a smile, which was a little odd for her.

The Scourge: Every once in a while... things around her get too complacent. People get too comfortable. It's time like those that I come in to shake things up. Chances are... someone, somewhere is going to a swollen ego, or some damn fool heroic notions. I'll be there to cure them of those.
He smiled, not grinned but smiled, back at her.
The Scourge: Gladly.

Syren: Sounds like we've got something else in common then.
She says, thinking a few select thoughts to herself. She glances back out the window again, then sighs and looks back up at him.
Syren: You wanna grab a drink a lil' bit later, maybe see what else we've got in common?
If anything, she was a very direct woman. A drink meant a drink.

The Scourge raised an eyebrow.
The Scourge: As long as you don't mind my drinking water.
He didn't drink anymore, not since Abby's death. There was no way she could have known that, however.

She shrugs a little bit. You don't meet many non-drinkers anymore.
Syren: Suits me. This way, I don't have to worry about you getting all grabby as the night goes on.
She teases him, thinking he could use a smile.
