 The scene opens somewhere in bar New York. It’s early evening and sat at the bar is someone familiar. Jenna Sterling. The XHW veteran was looking at the drink sat in front of her before checking her cell phone. It clearly appeared she was waiting on someone. Shannon Marks had walked in almost like a kid who won the grand prize when she saw Jenna. Outside of her daughter, there were actually few people that she was really excited to see. She was wearing a black turtleneck and grey hip hugging jeans.  Shannon Marks: OMG!!!! You're actually allowed to come out and play...Shannon embraced Jenna while sharing a laugh. Jenna smiled warmly, she was happy to see Shannon.
Jenna: You make it sound like I’m trapped. You know that’s not the case.
Jenna joked, she took a seat again and tapped the edge of the glass that arrived.

It really has been forever since someone really asked her that question: The record holding champion, the "single" mom who has "fun" every now and then, she might have even scared off a few guys as well. Her dark hair was lightening from the black dye job that got "rave" reviews.
Shannon Marks:
I've actually been pretty solid, it's been low key for me at best and reflective at worst...
Shannon laughed, though true because the only person that she would've been wholly with was her daughter. She had a fling or few, though her daughter was there for her. Shannon kept the laugh in about getting a round in, the last time was just as impromptu and had some "trouble" behind it. Sure Shannon would drop a line to her and talk about some people, but this was live as she was looking at what Jenna was wearing before she sipped her drink from it's snifter.

Jenna said, she gingerly moves in her seat, years of in ring action were beginning to take their toll.

Well, it's girls like you and Dakota Burrows that paved the way, then it was girls like me and that blonde...Kayla...
She almost felt the cognac rise from her throat mentioning her name, she was still in her feelings about the betrayal, but the irony was that Shannon's career lasted longer than her "enemy," though if she saw her she'd may as well bury that, it was that single mom mentality

Dakota Burrows. Jenna’s own enemy. A slight crease in her forehead formed as a thought or two crossed her mind. Picking up her glass she swirled the liquid inside.
Jenna: Kayla got out when the going was good.
Jenna said, looked at the glass and studied it.
Jenna: Kinda takes balls to pack up and leave it all behind when there’s unfinished business. Unless that was her last laugh.
Jenna said, she never did get her own measure of real revenge against Dakota Burrows.
Jenna: So who’s your pick to step up next? |

Well, my daughter is about to run wild after she recovers from that assault that we both took from Kovacs...though were I the betting woman, I would say Chica Mystika and Alyssa Skye are definitely thirsty for a piece. There is some new talent that might be...interesting
Shannon flagged the bartender down for a pair of Crown Apple Bottoms, which resembled the Irish Car Bomb minus the curdling with Crown Apple and a bottle of Angry Orchard cider |

Jenna took a long sip of the Hennessy and considered that answer.
Jenna: I’ve noticed a lot of females stepping in through those doors, I’m pretty sure at least one or two has what it takes to be the next generation.
A wry smile creeps on her lips.
Jenna: I’ll still be watching in my retirement. |

Retirement?? The word that Shannon Marks found comfort with, it wasn't a bad idea because she knew she had an expiration date as well.

I wouldn't know what to do with myself when that "time" comes, I know I have to "pass the torch" at some point, I get to be the "mom" that can watch her daughter reach for feats I've never accomplished. |

It was a hard truth as she took a small swig of the beer like cider before pouring the apple whiskey in its place.

I know my time will come, I can't "have" a family and yet between you and I, I'm the single "mom" and you're the married woman; it's one of those twisted things about life...How does Mr.Sterling feel about it?

Jenna: He’s totally fine about it… actually I think he’s quite excited at being a dad. But he’s not one to shout about it from the rooftops.
Jenna said, she knows Mason better than anyone else.
Jenna: When I extend my contract last year I knew it was for a final time. It’s going to be my last Superbrawl put it that way. |
